Parkash Singh Badal

 Parkash Singh Badal is a prominent Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Punjab for five terms. He was born on December 8, 1927, in the village of Abul Khurana, near Malerkotla, in the state of Punjab.

Badal started his political career in 1947 as a member of the Akali Dal, a regional political party in Punjab. He was first elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1957 and has since been elected to the assembly ten times. He served as the Chief Minister of Punjab for the first time in 1970 and later held the position four more times, from 1977 to 1980, 1997 to 2002, 2007 to 2012, and 2012 to 2017.

Badal is known for his efforts to promote agriculture and rural development in Punjab. He has also been a strong advocate for the rights of the Sikh community and has worked to promote religious harmony in the state. In 2015, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, for his contributions to public service.
